This work studies the potential of novel plasmonic core-shell nanocomposites based on ZIF-8 and NU-1000 NMOFs in near-infrared-responsive drug delivery. These nanocomposites are engineered with drug-locking polymer coatings to enhance cargo-loading and feature photothermal properties for controlled drug release.
