Light-Responsive Nanoantennas Integrated into Nanoscale Metal–Organic Frameworks for Photothermal Drug Delivery published by Cedrún-Morales M. et al. in Small Science.

This work studies the potential of novel plasmonic core-shell nanocomposites based on ZIF-8 and NU-1000 NMOFs in near-infrared-responsive drug delivery. These nanocomposites are engineered with drug-locking polymer coatings to enhance cargo-loading and feature photothermal properties for controlled drug release. Efficacy is demonstrated in 2D and 3D cell culture in vitro models, highlighting their promise in targeted cancer therapy. https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/smsc.202400088
