Members of the BioNanoTools (BNT) group participated in the MATSUS Spring Conference 2025 (Materials for Sustainable Development Conference), held in Seville (Spain) from 2–5 March 2025. As part of the conference, the symposium “Multifunctional Microporous Materials for Advanced Applications in Materials Science” (#FunPorMat), co-organized by N. Feliu, B. Pelaz, and P. del Pino, brought together recent advances in the synthesis and applications of microporous materials, with a particular focus on metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent–organic frameworks (COFs).
Several BNT researchers presented their latest work: M. Ceballos: Core–shell plasmonic nanoMOFs: synthetic methodologies and applications; J. Kopp: The green synthesis of MNP@UiO-66 and MNP@UiO-66-NH₂ nanocomposite; E. Polo: Engineered biomimetic nanocarriers: advancing intracellular delivery of nanoMOFs. Their contributions highlighted innovative strategies for the design and application of multifunctional nanomaterials in fields ranging from sustainable chemistry to biomedicine.
